The Doors will forever be a part of the rock and roll movement! The band was formed in 1965, by Jim Morrison and Ray Manzarek, who went to UCLA Film School together! I often ask myself, what would life be, if that fateful reunion had not happened. The Doors were something new! You had the goodie goodie (happy) bands and the peace, (make love not war) bands. Then you had The Doors, who were anything but a "happy, goodie band" and as for Morrison, he'd have the make love and war (the war of authority). Whether you loved The Doors, or hated The Doors, you could not help but to be mesmerized by them. The piercing and poetic words of Jim Morrison. The magical sound of Ray Manzarek's keyboard. The powerful drumming of John Densmore. And the electrifying sound of Robby Kriegers guitar. This, with the wild antics, all made up the strength of their group. Unfortunately, Jim met his "death" July 03, 1971. Just 6 years after the doors was formed. Yet to this day they remain popular! All I know, is when they say rock and roll is here to stay, they are referring to The Doors!!!! Songs ranging from number one hits, such as "Light My Fire", to powerful (and eerie) "The End". Their 4 year career, has lasted more than 3 decades, and countless books. Everyone is enthralled with just how Jim Morrison passed away, if indeed he did!
